Day 1Arrival in Marrakech – Transfer to Essaouira (Approx. 3 hours)

Upon landing at Marrakech Airport, a driver from Morocco Travel Experiences will warmly welcome you and begin your journey towards the charming coastal city of Essaouira. Along the way, you’ll marvel at scenic countryside landscapes dotted with argan trees. A stop will be made at a local cooperative to witness the traditional extraction process of argan oil. Keep your camera ready—you might spot goats climbing argan trees, a truly unique sight! Upon arrival in Essaouira, explore the old medina’s alleyways and the picturesque beachfront. As evening falls, you’ll be taken to your accommodation to unwind and relax for the night.

Day 2Essaouira to Marrakech (Approx. 3 hours)

After enjoying breakfast, take some time to discover more of Essaouira’s charm. Its medina is a tranquil mix of artisan shops, galleries, and atmospheric cafés—less chaotic than Fez, yet filled with personality. Head toward Avenue Mohammed Zerktouni to explore Souk Joutiya, the bustling flea market where locals shop for fresh seafood, fruits, and more. Then, walk along the ramparts of the Skala de la Ville, offering beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. On the return trip to Marrakech, relax and enjoy the scenery. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Marrakech and be dropped off at your accommodation.

Day 3Day 3: Full Day Guided Tour of Marrakech

Enjoy breakfast before setting off on a full-day guided exploration of Marrakech. Begin at the historic Saadian Tombs and continue to the exquisite Bahia Palace. Stroll through the colorful and peaceful Majorelle Garden, then discover the architectural remains of Badi Palace and visit the traditional tanneries. Later in the day, you’ll visit the Menara gardens and the Koutoubia Mosque—an iconic city landmark. The day ends at the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where snake charmers, musicians, storytellers, and artisans create an unforgettable atmosphere. Wrap up the day wandering through the bustling souks of the old medina before returning to your accommodation.

Day 4Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges (Approx. 5 hours)

After breakfast, depart for the desert journey heading toward the High Atlas Mountains and crossing the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Take in breathtaking views and snap some photos before continuing through Berber villages. You’ll stop to explore Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famously featured in several films and series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch, continue through Ouarzazate—often called the “Hollywood of Africa”—then onward to Skoura to see the historic Amridil Kasbah. Continue the drive through Kalaat M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, before reaching the impressive rock formations of the Monkey Fingers. Arrive at your accommodation in the Dades region for the night.

Day 5Dades Gorges – Tilmi – Agoudal – Imilchil (Approx. 4 hours)

Start your day with breakfast, then journey through the Dades Valley’s winding roads to remote villages like Tilmi. You’ll traverse high mountain passes offering magnificent views of rugged landscapes before reaching Agoudal. Stop in this peaceful village for a locally prepared lunch and experience authentic Berber hospitality. Continue on to Imilchil, a village famous for its romantic legend of the Lover’s Lakes, Isli and Tislit. Set in the High Atlas Mountains at over 2,000 meters altitude, it offers spectacular views and insights into Berber culture. In the late afternoon, settle in for an overnight stay in the region.

Day 6Imilchil – Ait Hani – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (Approx. 6 hours)

Following breakfast, begin the scenic route to the Sahara Desert. Travel through Ait Hani, then enter the dramatic Todra Gorge, where limestone cliffs soar 300 meters above a clear riverbed. Take time to explore the area, walk along the river, and admire the palm-filled valleys. Continue toward Tinjdad and Erfoud, both known for their lush date palms. Your journey culminates in Merzouga, where a camel trek into the dunes of Erg Chebbi awaits. Watch the sunset over golden sands and witness the shifting hues of the dunes. The night will be spent in a luxurious desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a delicious traditional dinner followed by an evening of Berber drumming and stargazing.

Day 7Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes (Approx. 7 hours)

After breakfast in the desert camp, set off for Fes. Travel through Erfoud and stop for panoramic views of the Ziz Valley before continuing to Midelt for lunch. The road then leads through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you might spot Barbary macaques. Afterward, pass through Ifrane—nicknamed “Little Switzerland” for its alpine charm. Arrive in Fes by late afternoon and check in to your accommodation for the night.

Day 8Fes – Half Day Tour – Volubilis – Rabat (Approx. 5 hours)

Enjoy breakfast before meeting your local guide in Fes for a half-day tour of the ancient medina. Explore highlights such as the Al Quaraouiyine University, believed to be the oldest in the world, and the Jewish Quarter, where traditional items and cultural relics are on display. Visit the iconic leather tanneries and the Royal Palace gates. Afterward, journey to Rabat with a stop at Volubilis—the well-preserved Roman ruins and UNESCO-listed site. You’ll also pass through the town of Moulay Idriss and glimpse parts of Meknes before arriving in the Moroccan capital in the evening.
